Lim Ji-young : ウィキペディア英語版 | Lim Ji-young Ji-Young Lim (임지영, born 1995 Seoul, South Korea) is a South Korean violinist,〔(Ji Young Lim ) at (Queen Elisabeth Competition website )〕 winner of the first prize in the 2015 Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels.〔("Violinist Lim Ji-young wins Queen Elisabeth competition" ) in ''The Korea Herald'', 31 May 2015〕 She studies with Nam-Yun Kim at Korea National University of the Arts. Besides the prestigious win in Belgium, Ms. Lim has succeeded in several other competitions. After placing third in the International Violin Competition Henri Marteau in 2011, she won the Ishikawa Music Award in Japan in 2012 as well as the Concerto Competition at the International Great Mountains Music Festival in Korea. In 2013 she won first prize at the International Euroasia Music Competition in Japan as well as the MIMC prize at the International Music Competition in Indianapolis, where she was additionally awarded the special Mozart Prize. Ms. Lim has performed in the United States, Canada, Japan, Korea, Germany and Switzerland, in addition to Belgium, with, among others, Maxim Vengerov and Joell Smirnoff. In 2015 she debuts with the (Carmel Symphony Orchestra ) in Indianapolis. In the Queen Elisabeth winner announcement on May 31, 2015, her name was unfortunately misheard by fellow violinist and competitor Lee Ji Yoon (이지윤), also of Korea, who went out before the jury, audience, and TV cameras to claim first prize before the confusion was explained to her. ==References==
